Ambaritsa Hut

Ambaritsa Hut sits at around 1,520 m in the Troyan section of the Central Balkan, among spruce forests and alpine meadows. First opened back in the 1930s, it remains a favourite base for hikers all year round.
From here the trail climbs to Ambaritsa peak (2,166 m), also called Levski — one of the most striking summits in the Stara Planina. Its name comes from a legend about the petrified barn of the hero Krali Marko.
In summer the area is dotted with blueberries and wildflowers, and the views over the ridge are unforgettable. It's well suited to both day hikes and multi-day treks for prepared walkers.
